Trail West #5

OK, so day 5 was Friday and today is Monday. Amazing how life gets busy when you get back home. I can only dream of being back there. It is so bad that I haven't even taken the time to download the pictures.
Let me see what did we do Friday..........Oh, how could I forget. We started off Friday very early. It was cowboy breakfast. We had to ride in the truck known as "Big Red" since none of our kids are old enough to ride horseback. It was cold and a little damp. It tried to rain, but was never successful. We had flying french toast. It was fun to watch!! You can see here that Mike helped the kids. I think Grace actually caught one herself, but I don't have a picture of it. Then, Mike got the opportunity to flip a giant pancake!! It was funny. He didn't do too bad, half on the ground and half in the pan.
The wranglers cooking away. Grant, in the brown jacket, is an Aggie. I didn't hold it against him. He was a great guy!!

Drew catching his flying french toast. They did catch it.

Caleb's turn!!
The rest of the day was a free day for us. Except, Drew wanted to do the ropes course again. So, here are more pictures of him and Emily (his friend) doing just that.

One section down, 3 more to go!!
I hope this give a little insight to how high it was!!

This is the hardest part of the ropes course by far. He just flew through it.

Drew ringing the bell at the top of the climbing wall!!
The tower you go off of on the zip line!!
You have to double click to make this bigger. Drew's face is priceless!!!
The bottom of the zip line, Drew and Emily!!
Now, I have to explain a little here. The entire week had characters that were at dinner and Club time. There was Waldo that everywhere you went you looked for him. Too funny. We had to explain who Waldo was, but now the kids want Waldo books. Then there is Sherlock and Holmes. They are officially known as C.H.A.S.E. - Certified Hide And Seek Experts. The key to camp was stolen by Brusselsprout Bart. They needed to find it by Thursday as Bart was going to bulldoze camp and make a brussel sprout farm (which he hated brussel sprouts himself). Bart hid fake keys all over camp. If you found one, you could bring it to Sherlock and Holmes and get a CHASE badge. You will have to ask the kids to say the CHASE motto. We looked everywhere. Bryce, Caleb's friend, actually gave us one. Then, Grace found one. The kids were devasted that the camp was going to be bulldozed. We even saw a truck pullying a small front end loader and Drew went nuts. Needless to say, they eventually (Friday night) got the key to camp and became friends with Bart. It was a great story and kept us all in "stitches" from laughing at the humor above the kids heads. The camp was saved!! Thank goodness!! We want to go back sometime!!

The kids, Waldo, Sherlock and Holmes!!

Caleb and Mr. Joe!! Caleb was tired, but we wanted one picture of them together. They were truly buddies!!

I can tell you that only God could have put together this week for us. We had a true family vacation full of adventure, laughing, and a few tears. We truly needed something like this. And, to have a place to help with your children who are too small to do alot of it. Thank you, God, for blessing us!! And, thank you to Young Life for loving us so much!!
