The cog rail

This is the beginning of going through and actually posting new pictures. They wil be out of order, but at least they will be up here.

We have lived in Colorado Springs for 6 years now. It was time to take the cog rail to the top of Pike's Peak. We have driven up it several times with people that come in to visit. But, we have never taken the cog rail. You can visit their site here: http://cograilway.com/. With having Drew being our train fanatic, we thought it would be fun. (It doesn't help that our babysitter works there and got us cheap tickets!!)

The best is Drew telling the story. I dressed everyone in shorts. Then, we took sweatshirts (we learned with mike's parents it is cold at the top). Well, let's just say that it was cold at the bottom and snowing at the top. Drew says that I tried to freeze everyone. OK, so it was June. The last weekend in June. It shouldn't have snowed!!

We had a blast. We didn't see much wildlife (yellow-bellied marmots were it). The scenary was beautiful. We ate donuts at the top. Apparently they are known for these.

This is the best picture looking northeast off of Pike's Peak. Everyone was cold and wanted me to hurry. I tried!!

This is just too funny not to post. Caleb is taking a picture himself. He is saying, "Cheese, Click!"
