OK, so I haven't written in over two weeks. And, since nothing happens around here, I have nothing to post......YEAH, RIGHT!!!
We just completed our 2 week, 4000 mile trip this past Saturday. We came home to the beginning of VBS (which I am the director for)!!! So, I thought while I wait for VBS photos to upload to Walmart.com, I would write my first blog.
We started out on the 29th, or was it the 30th? Whatever, the last Friday of may driving to Kansas City. It was me and 4 kids. We were to pick up Mike at the Kansas City airport the next morning and continue on to Cincinnati!! We left at 8 am and got into the hotel at 9 pm. We stopped every couple of hours for lunch or dinner or potty breaks or we were just behind a wreck and I needed a break. Everyone did great!! Sarah is a trooper. The others are too, but she has to sit in that carseat without being able to wiggle. Caleb looked for the cows, tractors, whatever I could find to interest him. Drew and Grace just watched movie after movie. It really wasn't that bad.
There is a cool truck stop in Colby, KS that has a playground. Many kudos to them. We made it to Kansas City and stayed at the airport. The hotel experience was difficult because everyone was tired. Sarah proceeded to drink 10 oz and throw it all up on me and her. UGH!!! I washed our clothes in the tub!! We picked up Mike and started off to Cincinnati. He drove across 3 states in one day, I covered one. Just doesn't seem fair as his scenary changed and mine didn't. We made it to Cincinnati that Saturday night.
We had a blast at Grandma and Pa's. The kids loved being the center of attention. Grandma had some cool places for us to go!! We did a waterpark, a neat playground by the river (where Drew watched the barges being moved), the aquarium and the best was their backyard!! We even took Drew and Grace to see Speed Racer on a rainy day. I got the best treatment. I got to see Jersey Boys with Dar. She has season broadway tickets and the other lady she normally goes with gave me her ticket. It was awesome and made my mom jealous!!!
These pictures are too funny not to share. We were getting ready to eat dinner and couldn't find Caleb. Well, our trip snack bag was in the garage. He took the licorice out and got in the "vet" and ate it. Needless to say, he didn't eat much dinner.
Mike is messing with the radio. Yes, it really plays the radio. The vet was a well fought over toy!!!
I will have more pictures when I can get on my laptop. I have misplaced my power cord. Please pray I find it.
Until the next post............................
